Hi guys!

After having a conversation with a friend at work whose having a last-minute Christmas wedding outfit melt down I thought I’d share with you some of my top picks for Christmas wedding fashion.

Berry Tones

Wine, burgundy and purple colours are amazing for winter weddings and there are some great ones out there at the moment. Some of my faves are from ASOS, Oasis and for those of you looking for something a little more high-end The Outnet also has some amazing choices.

Gold is one of my favourite colours to wear in winter, and a wedding is the perfect opportunity to get a bit decadent. My faves come from Topshop and Vivienne Westwood at The Outnet, who have some truly a-mazing dresses.

Although it’s unorthodox to wear black to a wedding, at Christmas is one time where I think it is acceptable especially if you dress it up with some faux fur and a statement necklace.

Make sure you don’t forget about the extras that will give your outfit the final touches…just make sure you don’t upstage the bride!

Those are some of my favourite budget and more high-end picks, what are your thoughts?

After having checked out a girl at work’s watch the other day I was most intrigued when an email popped into my inbox with the subject ‘the new version of my watch’ and a link to the most gorgeous Michael Kors watch, which even whilst writing this I wish she’d never sent me as now I really, really want it!!

The gorgeous MK5055

On Asos for £229, I managed to find the same watch on thewatchhut.co.uk for £170, which I know is still a lot of money but at £60 less than the Asos price I am definitely incredibly tempted!

I am a huge fan of watches and at the moment the brighter and gaudier the gold, the better. At the moment my go-to high street store is New Look who have some gorgeous watches from around £9.99 and I have a couple from there at the moment which are on rotation depending on my outfit choice and mood each day. Check out my current faves that are available on their website right now.

Asos also has some cute looking watches which suit all budgets as they range from Asos own brand watches from about £20 up to the Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors ones at a few hundred pounds, including midrange brands like Oasis, Ted Baker and Karen Millen so I would definitely check them out if you’re looking for something new.

So that’s my quick round-up of my favourite watches out and about on the web, what’s your watch personality? Any of my picks take your fancy?

I’m not usually one for going to gigs in Guernsey, I’m not sure why but a lot of the live bands here aren’t really my kind of music (which is probably because my kind of music is Rihanna and Beyonce blaring out of the speakers whilst my friends and I pretend we are really awesome hip hop dancers!). But tonight I am making an exception for the excellent Mt Wolf, who are fronted by Guernsey boy and friend from school Stevie McMinn.

I will do a separate post on the gig later on next week, but this weeks Fashion Friday is all about the most important element of any gig which is what to wear.

Whilst trawling online stores I’ve found my imaginary outfit for tonight, which is made up of patterned trousers from New Look (which are an online exclusive), an awesome turquoise blazer from Oasis and a simple white silk top from Topshop, finished off with pumps & a clutch from River Island and a spiked necklace from Pretty Little Thing.com

Which for all my non Mandarin or Chinese speaking readers means ‘Happy New Year’!

As it’s now a new year I thought I’d show you my fashion picks of all things oriental, and as it’s also the year of the snake there are a couple of snake inspired pieces too. All from our very own British high street, and as I’ve said before as I’m an island girl all items are available online now.

The UK is well and truly in the grips of a cold snap, and we over in the small island of Guernsey have not missed out on a dusting of the white stuff. Although it only lasted for one day, I made sure I got out with my camera to try to capture some of the gorgeous scenes around me.

Below you will find some of my favourite shots from the day, including one looking out over the sea. The way the snow settled on the rocks for some reason reminded me somewhat of scenes not out of place in an Attenborough documentary.

However snow is not without it’s problems, one of the main ones being what to wear! My go to items are a cosy jumper, warm coat and of course the obligatory wellies to keep your feet warm and dry! So although the snow may have melted in Guernsey, for any of you still knee deep in the stuff here are some of my high street faves.

When you get home

Let’s not forget keeping toasty once you get home.  My choice is from PrettyLittleThing.com and is comfort and cosiness personified, it is of course the onesie. This one is channeling Minnie Mouse chic and comes complete with the bow adorned hood, all for £35.

Feel free to share with me any photos you have of the snowy scenes around you or the outfits you’ve been wearing to stay chic in the snow.

Just like many other 25 year olds I am partial to a spot of shopping. Ok, let’s be honest, given that I live on an island with a few boutiques and a couple of national chains any time I’m in the UK or fancy a bit of a flutter online I pretty much go way overboard.

My current favourite things to wear are sheer shirts, printed trousers, big fluffy jumpers and chunky woollen scarfs. There is however one large proportion of my wardrobe that I have so far neglected to mention, which I have become more than a little known for amongst my friends and work comrades. The printed animal motif. On anything. Shirts, scarfs, tops, jackets, you name it.  If it features an animal I probably own it.

A few snapshots of my personal faves:

Fox print shirt from George at Asda

Reindeer print scarf from M&S

M&S scarf

Bird print scarf from the Mathew Williamson at H&M range

mw H&M scarf

I can’t put my finger on exactly what it is that I’m so drawn too with this style of clothing, I’ve always been a fan of prints and patterns (hence the name of this blog!) and animal print in general, so I guess it’s only natural that I would like animal motifs. But more than that, I think I just like the fun, quirky nature that a lot of animal patterned clothing is about, especially the illustrated characters.

For any of you who are either totally with me on this trend or more of a sceptic, I have pulled together some of my favourite animal motif items in stores now. My favourite places to nail this look are Asos, high street favourites TopShop and New Look and great new website PrettyLittleThing.com who have a range of animals styles in clothing from shorts to knitwear and jeans to t-shirts.

My advice on rocking this trend is to stick to one key item and wear it with muted separates from denim shirts to leather skirts, these pieces are likely to be the main focus of your outfit so keep it simple to avoid overkill.
